C5 wheels on my 98 formula now ABS inop & brake light comes on after 50mph hlp please
I replaced my stock 16" wheels with staggered C5 vette wheels 17" front & 18" on rear with 215/45/17 on the front & 225/50/18 now anytime I hit 50mph my ABS Inop & brake light comes on at the same time. When I shut the car down the lights stay off till I hit 50mph again then they return.. Can someone help me with this issue? What do I need to do to keep the lights off?

My guess is at higher speed there is a difference in your wheel speed sensors that is kicking the ABS light.
The height of the two tires are similar,; 215/45/17 is 24.62in and the 225/50/18 is 24.20in
However revolutions per mile are very different. the 215/45/17 is doing 819 revolutions per miles and the 225/50/18 is doing 751 revolutions per mile. Not knowing what your stock tire size was I can't determine it's revolutions per mile.
The height is the same the radius is different. Even though the vehicle is traveling at a constant speed, because the radius is different one wheel is actually spinning faster to keep up with other wheel.
The PCM allows a variance in the speed sensors before it thinks something is wrong. My guess is above 50mph the variance is greater causing the ABS light to come on. Also the PCM is using a strategy based off of the stock wheel size.
This is my guess at least.
I think even most hand held tuners will let you change your tire size.

my stock tires were 225/55/16... So I can use a tuner to change my tire size? do you know just what tuner I would be able to do this with or can I take it somewhere to have it done?

Excuse me Mr. TheSilverOne, 225/50/17's will rub my front fenders with my wheels. & BTW I have the stock wheels & tires that I use for winter driving. And seeing how there is no such thing as a 220/50/17 I think I'll have to deal with the 215/45/17 issue. I wasn't asking for smartass remarks I was asking for a little input on an issue that does not concern you or your input..
