Default How staggered can I get?

okay, I commented on a post a few days ago about a guy who had his Riken Raptors dry rotting and I was having the same problem. Well, I am going to go ahead and replace them. Currently, the Riken Raptors are 275's and the fronts which are Falken's are 255's. I want to put 315 in the rear. Will this cause any problems as this is such a large difference? also, I won't have to do any modifications to the car to get the 315's to fit will I? My ride is stock height as of now. Thank you

Staggering width is fine. You can make a 235 front and a 335 rear look fine with appropriate wheels.

Once you pass about the 295 size for the rear, you'll likely need to pound in your inner wheel wells and or look for an adjustable pan hard bar to prevent contact. Not all tires are the same width. Meaning a 315 wide Nitto is not the same width as a 315 BFG.

I have 305 Nitto's and I had to pound in the inner wheel well to make sure they didn't contact the tire.

I've personally ran 315 nitto 555Rs on 9.5 wheels and They fit and looked ok, they were still too big for the wheels, and they are the narrowest 315 available. So if I will say to go with a 285/40-17 in the rear and either 245 or 255/45-17 in the front.

So will 315/35/17 nitto 555r fit without any modification on 11 inch rims?

No. As I told you, anything wider than about a 295 will require pounding in the inner wheel well and or an adjustable panhard bar.

What do you do the pounding with? A rubber mallet or an actual hammer?

A rubber mallet won't do diddly. You'll need an actual hammer or even a small 5 lb sledge to move the metal so it won't rub.

There's a thread somewhere showing how to do it. Then you'll need to get the 3m black coating to spray where you hit so it won't rust. If your going with an 11 inch rim, you'll most likely need the panhard bar on top of pounding in the wheel well so it doesn't rub.

I have 11 inch wheels on my car now with 315/35 nitto NT05s. An 11 inch wheel is correct for a 315 tire. I also have rolled fenders, bfh mod and adjustable panhard, you will most likely need at least the panhard and lil bfh.
