Default Any cheap street wheels for narrowed rear guys.

Just like the title states wanting to narrow my rear end 3 inches per side and get some welds rts for a drag set up but wondering if anyone has used a cheap summit wheel in a 4.5 or 5" back spacing to use as a street set up.

Track is about an hour away and I don't wanna have to drive over on slicks and it wind up storming on the way home.

So post up what ya got! Key word is cheap here lol don't wanna spend 600+ on some rear torque thrust at the moment!

I love billet specialties but was wanting something cheaper basiclly just to get me to and from the track. May try a summit star or something!

I wish billet, weld and racestars 17's weren't so much lol!

With a 3" narrowed rear end and street lites I believe you have to have drag brakes. Don't quote me on that but I believe that is the case with that particular set up

I've got some Cragar Soft 8s in 17X9 with a 5" backspace. I bought them to break in my S60 and to just bomb around with. They were $90 each.

Hell yea man those dont look half bad at all! Any pics at all?

I wonder if they make one with the correct offset/backspacing for the front?

Not the best pictures. I'll get you some better ones tomorrow. As for the front, I've seen a couple F-Bodies with these wheels on the front.

prostars, also the cheapest is going to be buying a set from someone, you will get much more for your money that way,i think even the summit fast five wheels come with the right bs,also depends on what your setup is,also racestars are cheap as well, and they seem to have a killer sale a few times a year,

Yea I know fast fives make a 4.5 bs. Just need to find out what backspacing lt offset I would need for some fronts for a 17x9 I'd probably get the crager 8's if I could figure that out.

Eventually want to either get dark starts in 17's or billet specialties or something along that line mabye torque thrust lol!

Would any of those sub-100 dollar Cragar or whatever brand wheels on Summit work for a stock rear end?

If you got the correct backspacing which is 7.5 on a stock rear. The craters only go up to 5" so they wouldn't work. Summit stars in a 15x8 come in a 7.5 and people use them.

I moved the WS.6 out of my old, cramped shop and into my new shop. That means more pics!

As for running some of these steel wheels on the front, see below...

It depends on your definition of "work".

If you look at the picture of my WS.6 when the tires/wheels were stock, you can see that the wheels are somewhat "sucked" into the body. The widest part of the fender sticks out from the face of the wheel. The Cragars I have in the pictures above do the same thing. My Fikse wheels, on the other hand, do not. In my opinion, a street car looks best with the tires/wheels flush with the widest spot of the fender. If you agree, this will allow you to run a smaller offset.
