Default Any one have NT05s or GForce Rivals

Similar tire except one is Max Performance and the other is Extreme performance. Close in price as well.

Any reviews would be great thanks

I have NT-05's and have been very happy with them. Not as much straigh line traction as a DR, but that is to be expected. Kills DR's in the corners. The Rivals are very new, and are not made in standard 4th gen sizes, which are what the vast majority around here run, so you may not get a lot of responses on them.

I had NT05s. Cornering grip was insane (considering the moderate price) even on stock suspension. I can't attest to their performance as a DR but I know they're more suited to ax/road course; if you want a DR go with the NT05R or 555R, both of which I've heard great things about.

The Rival's are one of the best handling street tires I have ever driven on.

well I'll be running a 18X10.5 on all four corners with 295/35s I live where I get 4 months of snow so they'd only be used in clear driving conditions my stock 16s will have narrow winter tires as this is my complete daily driver. I want 15-20k miles out of them just street driving some occasional mountain driving which is great here

The NT05 is a 200 treadwear tire so it may not go that long. Mine still had an adequate amount of tread left at around 7k miles when I sold the car they were on, although it wasn't much. I probably could have gotten another 3-5k out of them, and my driving was much the same as yours will be, mostly street with some canyon and mountain runs. I know my next set of tires to replace my shitty Toyos will be NT05s.

well being that they are both 200 tread wear rated tires. I can get the NT05s from onlinetires.com for about $960 and the Gforces from tirerack for $1200. I think I'm gonna go with the GForce Rivals just to see how they handle and tread how many miles i get out of them. If I like them I'll let everyone know and if I don't same. and probably go to the NT05

NT05 handle well in the dry and rain, are quiet, and ride smooth.

I've had Extreme Performance Tires (Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08) and while those might handle a little better, the road noise and ride sucks in comparison. The NT05s actually grip a little better in a straight line compared to the AD08s (which is not the Rival, but same class of tire).

I have Nitto NT05's and I'm impressed with them. They don't need as much air pressure as other tires. I run 28F/26R in them and they stick nicely.

I would be more inclined to give the rivals a try. I run NT05's in 315 on all 4 corners and don't have much good to say about them. Decent performance tire for the cost but there is better out there. They seem to be picky about temp also. No heat and they dont work at all, too much heat and they turn to grease. I also noticed they seem to work better at lower pressures then most tires. As a disclaimer, I'm a lot harder on tires then the average person as I autocross and track my car very often. I've noticed quite a few local cars running well on the rivals, however they are smaller and lighter cars then the f-body. I'm curious to see how they work on a heavier car.

For an autocross tire I wouldn't run the NT05s or Rival. I'd step up to the NT01 or R888 at a minimum.

The rival was actually created for street tire classes. Not a ton of data on the tire for larger cars. I only run the NT05 because they were cheap and I still do lots of street driving. Everyone I have spoken with that use the NT01 like them, seem to last pretty long for an R-comp. The opposite seems to hold true for the R888, everyone I know that runs the tire said they heat cycle too quickly and the tire turns to garbage early on in its life. Again, this is speaking from a racing point of view, none of this really matters for a street tire that's going to get the occasional back road run. In the OP's case he can't go wrong with either of those choices.

FYI Nitto and Toyo are the same company!! I have the NTO5's and love them. They stick hard in the twisties. Not too bad in straight line as long as they have some heat in them. My mods suspension wise are: BMR STB, Koni yellows, strano springs, strano hollow sway bars, new bushings and ball joints. Everything but STB have been put on in the last 3,000 mi. There is no comparison the car is on rails. Feels like i went from a mustang to a ferrari. The tires were last so i had a chance to rip the car on the tired Kumho Exctas. The NTO5 are far better tire, beasts for a street tire!!

Kunho uses Ecsta for most of their road tires. Need the model (MX/XS would be the only class competitive tire) to make a comparison.

I just ordered 4 of the 295-35-18 g-force rivals for my C5 DD 18x10.5" all the way around, stock suspension on a car that doesn't get taken to the track, but i'll still let you know how I like them when I get them on.

Great!!!, I don't know anybody that is running them. I'll be running 18x10 or 18x10.5 C6 ZR1s I'm at stock suspension as well right now, but I'll have $5k in parts when the ZR1s go on.

I saw a couple cars with the BFGs doing the autocross at LS Fest. Good looking tire, but that's all I can tell you about them.
