Do not use clear coat, use a good polish/coating made for polished wheels.

Clear coat will yellow.

Also post pics, one of my favorite wheel designs you lucky bastard.

I always applied a thin coat of wax on my CCW's after a good polish. Never appeared yellowish to me and offered great protection and made it much easier to wipe off dirt/dust.

What wax would you use?

I use simichrome polish. Old school but it works well.

I have polished aluminum wheels on my "winter beater" 4x4, and was looking for something to protect them from road salt. I stumbled on a product called "ProtectaClear", made by Everbrite. It's as clear as any liquid I've seen, and after 3 winters, the wheels still shine and look really good.

If you have raw polished wheels the best thing you can do is continue to polish them often. Don't clear them or you take the entire point of 'raw polished wheels' away.

Mothers aluminum polish and some elbow power

Supposedly Weonal is good for this. I usually never bother with trying to extend the life of a polish job because I love metal polishing. I currently smoothing and polishing my entire Land Rover intake manifold just because.

The only wax I have ever applied to Aluminum was HD Poxy, it did not discolor, but did dull the metal just a hair (so little most people wouldn't even notice probably).

I have considered trying Optiseal since it is completely invisible, but usually just never bother.

I use Wheel Wax on my wheels, makes it easier to clean.
