Default Understanding rim/tire/width clearances?

Can anyone break this down for me so I can math out what size I can run on my 98 Fbody TA (fenders are not rolled)

I want to fit 18's but everyone on here runs 17's.. Why is this?

Also, my rim choice is TT II's, I hear 17/9.5 front is max and 17/11 back is max without it looking retarded, does anyone have TT II's or TT's they can post pictures of so I can get ideas?

I see the stock rim on my car is a 16... and I feel an 18 would look good front and back but will I run into clearance issues with the front? Lmk please.

I ran these on my car, lowered, and no rolling https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...e-reduced.html
