Question Help me with offset please..

Hey guys,so I'm looking at getting some new wheels on my 96 TA and I'm looking at these: http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-521-Wh...p/52180432.htm

But I really have no understanding of offsets..They have them in a +12mm offset and +25mm offset..

2 issues you need to look into, first the wheels, the bolt pattern says 5x120. our cars run 5x120.7, I know .7mm doesn't sound like a lot, but may give you issues as far as bolting the wheels on. Second, as far as wheel offset, our OEM wheels run I believe 50mm offset, and the wheels you are looking at in the link are 12mm offset, I think your new wheels will stick out too far beyond the fenders. I went on 1010tires.com are entered your wheel specs against OEM wheels and they say your new wheels will stick out 63mm, (almost 2 1/2") further than the ones you have on now. in the end its your call, they are nice looking wheels, but the offset and bolt pattern would probably deter me from getting them, just my .02.

5X120 is fine to run since it is within the factory tolerance. lots of guys on here run wheels that are 5x120 bolt pattern and a hub-centric ring without issues, look up the BMW wheels on an 4th gens thread. now that offset will make your wheels stick way out from the fenders like said above. i would suggest looking at the first post in the sticky at the top of this page, it has the suggested offsets f&r for different sized wheels and the suggested tire size as well. very helpfull

edit: here is the link to that thread:

I'm curious that you all are saying that the wheel will stick out 2.5" past the fender but if you have your rear end narrowed 2.5" then they should bolt up without issues, correct?

I'm trying to find wheels just like this myself but my rear is narrowed and fighting with all the offsets in mm. I guess I might try that site mentioned in the other post.
