Rear wheel/quarterpanel rub issue.
Hey guys so I got a great deal on some 285/40/18" tires last year, and i'm using 18" C5 wheels with them. I had to use a spacer so they wouldn't rub, but I lowered my car a few weeks ago and now when I take a tight right turn at a somewhat high speed, the outer part of the tire touches the inside lip of the quarterpanel.
Would switching back to a 295/35/18 resove this? Or should I possibly go 17's all around? I was also thinking that maybe the rear end is not centered, so take the spacer out of that side and see what happens?
Anyone run into this issue? Thanks

An adjustible panhard bar would center the rear and would help. I can't speak as to if the 295/35 would fit better.
After I cut up a $700 pair of new drag radials, I rolled the fenders and centered the rear with an adjustible panhard bar and it's no longer an issue. That was a tough lesson to learn.

get an adjustable panhard bar first , then secondly get a big f'n hammer and knock down any spots in the inner fenders where its hitting and you should be good to go .
I had 275 40 18 on my 85 trans am and it made it ride so much better than the 275 35 18 i previously had so i bet you want to stay with that size tire.

69TA- I might be interested but I might be switching to 17's all around soon to be honest....
And Ramairetransam I think i'll definitely be getting an adjustable panhard soon then.
