Default Re-drill Ford bolt pattern....to fit GM. Anyone done this?

I'm wondering if the re-drilling moved the bolt position so far outward that it ran into the wheel itself. This wheel doesn't look like it has a lot of room to move until it hits the painted part of the rim.......

I know it's only about 6mm difference, but man it looks like it will hit the painted part of the wheel lug hole.......
Also, then the thickness of the lug on the stud might hit the lug hole wall.......

??????

Probably easier to drill your brake rotor and hub to ford pattern

I had a machine shop re-drill some hubs on a thunderbird to to take mustang wheels and brake rotors. Worked like a charm. I would be leary of re-drilling or machining wheels out to fit.

Not sure what you are trying to do but don't forget to take into account the backspacing. I would expect mustang wheels to be very different from fbody if that's what you intend to put them on.

The Ford Cobra R wheels really are nice......but it's just too much trouble to deal with the re drilling.

I'm getting these.....

Those will look 100x better than the Cobra R wheels anyway. I've always hated the way the spokes on the old Cobra wheels dip inward instead of being flat faced.

There is/was a manufacturer that made those in the 5x120.6 bolt pattern.

You don't like these.......

I was gonna get these re drilled and widened to 11.5" and use 335 tires. Then have Strange cut 1" off each end of my rear axle to make them fit properly. Then mini tub it.

The wide dish area makes them look good.....this wheel would look good on my red TA.....with charcoal grey CETA paint.

I'll give it some thought.... Back in 2000, I bought a Lincoln LS for my wife to use as a DD. I was going to put the snow tires on the OE wheels, and needed some wheels for the summer tires. I saw an ad in one of the car magazines by the (insert wheel company name here) for these wheels, in a variety of lug patterns, the Lincoln included. Unfortunately, they didn't stock them in time for when I needed them, and right off the top of my head, I can't remember their name. But I'll try....

Cool. If you remember by May 18th let me know. I'm in the Middle East right now and I leave here to fly home May 20th. I have to order something so they arrive around May 22-23 so I can put them on.

Thanks.....

I've tried to remember the name, but I'm drawing a blank. Problem is, my experience was 14 years ago, and a LOT of those wheel retailers have the term "replica" or something like it, in their names. I just can't remember what Replica this, or OE Something, was in their name....

Did a little digging. Performance Wheel Outlet used to sell the wheels. They were called the "280 Milan". I don't think that they are in business any more....

I was considering sending my rear end back to Strange......for just $150.00 cutting and $89.00 for new axles, they will send it back to me with 1.5" cut off each end and set up with the Ford bolt pattern......then these would fit perfect......

I really like the DEEP dish.....and the Anthracite will match my charcoal grey CETA paint.
