How much acceralation will I lose w/ rears 1” bigger than fronts?

Car is a 99WS6 w/ 18/9.5 rims

After upgrading OME rims I’ve always used 275/35/18 on fronts
and rears, I’ve been told that increasing the size of the rears will
mess up the TCS and the ABS is this true or false?

1.If I had a larger 275/40/18 on the rear and 275/35/18 on the front
How much acceralation will I lose?

2.If I had a larger 275/40/18 on the rear and 275/35/18 on the front
Will the ride be smoother?

3.If I had a larger 275/40/18 on the rear and 275/35/18 on the front
Would the speedometer require recalibration?

4.w/ a stock ride hieght how much of the rear fender gap will be filled w/ a 275/40/18?
Thanks

I can answer some of this but not all of it

I currently run 18x8 - 245/35/18 front and 19x12 - 305/30/19 rear.
I'm not sure exactly how much a difference there is in diameter between the front and rear, but it looks pretty substantial. What I can say is the abs is definitely being affected. I don't have a light on, but hard braking for an offramp at last minute has tripped the abs a couple times. It wasn't anything serious, but it's a bit of an eye opener when it happens because it feels like the car is sliding for a second.

With my setup, my speedo is almost perfect without calibration. I've never gotten it legitimately checked, but I know it's no more than 2mph off, if at all

I would say there wouldn't be much of a difference in fender gap. With the 19's in the rear of mine, there's still a good bit of gap, though lessened by the weight of the sub in the t-top well which adds about 100lbs.

Hope this helps a little.
I'm sure someone else can cover the stuff I have NO knowledge about lol

1. clarify acceleration. you wouldn't lose "acceleration". the slight increase in profile should not affect acceleration but may slightly affect the speedometer.

2. smoother yes, anytime you increase profile the ride would be smoother. anytime you decrease profile it gets a bit rougher.

3. it may require a speedo recalibration, but only if your speedometer was recalibrated to the size rim and profile you have on now (not sure if 35 profile on 18" rim is same as what the car originally came with)

4. it would help fill it, but it will also raise the rear of your car. if your looking to fill the gap, I would look into doing heater hose mod if you haven't done already, or lower or cut your rear spring as some do.

my .02 cents
