Default Drag Radials for 18x9 wheel

Hey, I'm having a hard time finding drag radials for the size wheels I run. I know 18x9 isn't an ideal setup for drag radials but i'm trying to make it work.

Anyways right now im running a 275/35/18 summer tire all around on my car. After the stall and new trans I will spin through first second and even into third sometimes. So I need a better tire.

I cant find any 275/35/18 drag radials but my friends found some 305/35/18 sized ones. He said it would be fine to run a 305 on a 9" rim but I'm hesitant.

Also what brand would you say would work best for DD use in the summer. I don't race too often but I do mess around and sometimes go to the track. The car will see rain and highway use too. And Im looking to have them last a whole summer. Even longer would be better but I know that wont happen.

Just looking for suggestions. Thanks

I'd go with the 265/40/18 MT Radial 3782R (26.5" overall diameter, 10.6" section width, 9-10" rim range)

With going up from 35 to a 40 sidewall does the tune have to be changed? or will it not really matter?

Taller tire equals taller gear, shorter tire, shorter gear ratio.

Doesn't make that big of a difference. Don't pay too much attention to aspect ratio as far as the percentage (2nd number) goes. Look at overall diameter compared to the fronts. They're 26.5" tall, so they'll likely be .8" taller than your fronts (if you're running a 275/35/18). These are sort of an odd size, they're going to look like the same width as your fronts, even tho the width number is larger in the front. They will look larger on the car due to the slightly taller sidewall.

Don't worry about it making much difference on your speedo or gearing. With an 18" tire the more sidewall you can get the better, the car will hook better this way.

My recommendation is NO drag racing tires at all.

That's the best advice for a long life and a car that isn't totaled.

Apparently it rained on one of the legs of the past Drag Week. Some guys had MT drag radials on and they said it was cool. I'm trying to see which drag radial it was. I'm thinking not the pros, but either the originals or the II's...
