Default Rear tires. Mickey or Nitto (pics)

I have both Mickey 305/35-18a nd Nitto 555R 335/30-18.
The Mickeys are 1/2" taller and the Nitto's are 1" wider. They both fit. The Nitto's actually fit the 18x11 wheels a little better.
Which ones to go with? Opinions anyone?

The Mickey's will hook up better, but the Nitto's will be better for daily driving and wear better than the Mickey's. I guess the question here is how do you intend to use the car? Street racing, or just a simple weekend cruiser?

Don't get me wrong, the Mickey's will run great on the street and you can daily drive them all day long, but they are going to wear much faster than the Nitto's. With that said, I love my Mickey's.

The verdict is in. M/T just fits the car better. The Nitto was a little too low pro for my taste and just didn't hook. The M/T simply hook much better with all things being equal. Both sets were heat cycled first. The M/T 305-18 is the same width as my old 315-17 M/T. I mean exactly to the mm as wide...

I'd go with the mickeys, trust me you'll want the traction when you need it.

So far im very pleased with the et street2. It is the same compound as the et street one and we all know those hook. There are surprisingly very few pics of et street 2s, especially in a 305/18 setup.....which is why I posted. I know this because I was looking for info before I bought mine.

Don't get me wrong, the Nitto is a great tire and much better at handling. I was looking for more straight line hook than cornering. Gotta have pro's and con's...
Loving the M/T's.

Glad you're liking the Mickey's. Great tires if you ask me. My MT ET Street Radials do just fine handling corners, and they hook like crazy.

Mickeys all the way...but they will not last very long if it's a dd
I used to run Nitto DR's on a dd and they hooked up great and lasted a lot longer than the Mickeys. Just drop the psi right before drag racing someone.

Are your Nitto's, drag radials or std street tires?
Also did you drop the air pressure all the way down when running on the un prepped surface.?

tried everywhere from 17psi down to 10psi lower psi was worse for spin.. I should have just left at 17 and waited for some rubber to be put down. at 10psi I spun the wheel in the tire some too...not bad, a bit over 1/3 rotation they are nitto drag radials... when trying to put the power down on the street I am not impressed, but for an all around tire I guess they are pretty good, as long as not launching hard they do pretty well and seem to be wearing quite well... am sure a person can get several thousand miles out of them on the street with some drag racing in between. I don't put many street miles on the car anymore so a tire that wears fast is not a big concern for me... but getting it to stick with very little rubber on the pavement is.. at the track I am sure they will hook good though. I am going to 15x10 bogarts so I have some sidewall to help with absorbing some of the shock of launching a stick car, right now I am running the ss 17x10 inch wheels on the rear so not much sidewall on the 26" tires
