Default 15" wheels and LS1 brakes. Not for drags...

I've got a 2000 Firebird and need to find a set of 15x7 wheels that will fit over the brakes. Something that doesn't require shims is preferred. It's just for my snow tires so they don't need to be pretty. Will the steel wheels from the 93-97 fit? Maybe something off an S-10 pick up? Tried a set of aluminum 3rd gen Firebird wheels and they won't work.

Factory steel wheels off of a s10 are a no go. Tried that myself on my nova with ls1 brakes.

You going to either have to get 16" snow tires, or your best bet if you actualy care about your car is buy a $800 Craigslist beater for the winter.

My 16 inch snowflakes barely clear the front brakes, 15's definitely arent going to work. if it's in decent shape get a beater though, these things rust like tin cans in the winter. One winter put holes in my previously clean floor.

15x4 is the max width with LS1 brakes, anything wider and it starts getting too far over the caliper, and there is not clearance to fit any more rim in that diameter.

My blue Camaro had nothing left of it's back seat foot wells, the rear inner and outer wheel wells would crumble leaving giant holes if you touched them, and the paint was starting to bubble from rust above the wheel arches. Winter + f body = parts car.

Yea my passenger floor pan needs completely replaced and there's small holes inside the back wheel wells. It's a shame because I love the car and have way too much time and money in it to scrap it now. I'd tell someone to sell their car or ride the bus before driving one of these in the winter.
