Default wheel fitment inquiry HERE due to no posts in "proper" section for years...

hello ... i looked to post in the wheel & tire section but see that there are no posts in that forum for over 5 years, so please bare with me for posting here in order to receive some help. ok, so to the point ... i'm looking at some wheels with the following specs ...
18X9.5
Bolt Pattern: 5x120 - i am aware that this is not the "proper" bolt pattern but understand that quite a few run it with zero problems.
Offset: 18
Backspacing: 5.96
2000 trans am auto

yea i figured the 18 offset wouldnt work ... so, my next wheel from reading the wheel & tire offset section seemingly should work, which would be
8x19 (Front) & 9x19 (Rear)
Bolt Pattern : 5x120
Offset : ET38 (Front) & ET38 (Rear) yay or nay? ... and if yay, will this be a an even with fender well fit or a slightly sticking out fit ? last question on wheel size ... sorry & thanks in advance

That sounds about right. Shouldn't stick out depending on tire selection

Check the sticky for wheel info. And more importantly the sticky lists a range of acceptable offsets for each width wheel. I think the general ruling is run the 120mm wheels at your own risk, from my research the stud failure rate is very very low. Of coarse there are the few who think running a 5x120mm wheel is as stupid and dangerous as throwing your newborn baby on a blanket in the bed of your pickup to drive to town. The important part is to make sure you get the hubcentric ring fitting proper as this is what supports the majority of the weight.

I have actually been looking at a few of the BMW style wheels here lately as I'm in need of wheels.
