Default cutting off the bump stop tabs

had the car for 2 years now and the bump stops have never been there. I have 17 x 11 zr1s on the way so I'm going to cut off the tabs

Anything I should worry about after doing this? I'm getting new suspension as well, slp bilstein shocks and strano springs so I don't think the car should bottom out for any reason..

Nothing to it, one quick slice per side.

I just removed mine recently to fit the 305s im running now. I used a 4.5 grinder to cut mine off.

I moved mine inboard and installed V6 stops with no spacer. I used 1/4" bar and tapped it with a little V shaped gusset to stiffen it. Took some fab and welding.

Relocating the bump stops is the best and right way to do it(like RAMPANT did). Otherwise you risk damaging the shocks, tires, or other moving part that could cause or receive damage colliding with the undercarriage when the rear shocks fully compress.

well wheels are on, fender clipped the driver side tire a little I didn't think anyone ever needed to roll their fenders with these??

And a little bfh was done on drivers side, my lca's n ph bar still aren't here though which should help I hope because no one around me has a fender roller

The 93-2002 f-body has a lot of fender lip(mine did, about 1") that sticks inward toward the tire sidewall. So as another option if you have a die grinder with reinforced cut-off wheels, and you feel confident with your ability, then you can also cut a large amount (about 3/4) of the lip off. Just make sure to smooth the cut and give it a good coat of touch-up paint.

Yeah their a OK Band-Aid if you removed the bump stops, but still not a replacement for bump stops. Using Air bags that sit in the coil springs end up changing the spring rate to a higher rate which kind of defeats the purpose of getting the Stranos because of them have the best overall spring rates.
I'm no welder but what RAMPANT did is by no means complicated. It's actually the simplest solution I've seen to date, but it does need to be welded on. Which I would think any good welder could easily do in a fairly short amount of time.
Imo, if you're willing to cut off the factory bump stop mounts, at least make a effort to do it right and relocate them, it's not rocket science.

I don't disagree....I've done it both ways. The bag is a decent interim option.....that is all, lol.

Me and a buddy were talking about this the other day. He tells me he cut his off to clear a big tire. He said when he cut it that it caused the quarter panel to become wavey. I would be very cautious doing it this way because of that.

Off topic, yes, but what springs did you use with those (GC?) weight jackers?

Are they flat ground on top or did you find a full size pig tail spring somewhere which will work with the stock isolator/perch??? (Obviously they are pig tails on the weight jacker end.)

I do not have full specs on them. Sam Strano used to sell the kit with his spring rates. These were 150 straight rate if my memory is correct. 550s on the front.
