I have a couple buddies that have the 555r's and they aren't too happy with them, but they are making more power than I am so that is probably why. I bought my tires based on driving it in the rain now and then and did tons of research. It seems the censes is if you're not too much above a stock ls1 that nitto 555's or bfg kdw2's are the ones people chose, giving the edge to the kdw in the rain and I can vouch for that because mines a daily driver and I've been in heavy rains at least 20+ times, mostly highway. If you're making a lot of power and won't be in the rain much everyone says mt et streets, which I wished I had gotten. Then it's a toss between the nt05r's and tq's, slight edge to the tq's from every thread I've read.
I don't know if this has helped or made it worse, and you may have already read all this stuff lol. I just wanted to chime in because the bfg comp2's are horrible if you're making any power. Mine are 255/50/16 and I'm guessing my 89 is between 340-360rwhp. Good luck and hopefully others will give you their input.

If you can stay off the highway in the rain the NT05R is a very good drag radial

toss up between the 555r's and the tq's, I meant to say nt05r's and tq's. They are making a lot more power than I am, my buddy with the Camaro is on low boost 10psi and just blows them off at 50 rolls lol.

Traction wise I would say the NT05R is much much better than the tq

Knowing my luck they probably do. Wish I had tried those instead, but more people said that the tq hooked better. It looks like the nt05r would hook better just by the tread design to me, but I didn't listen to my gut feeling. Think I'm going with et streets next. How does your nt05r's do in the rain? So far unless it's 80+ degrees outside the rain is all my tq's are good for.

The nt05r is bad in the rain, but hooks very will, kinda the et street rival but not quite as sticky. There is also a nt05 street tire that is the same design as the nt05r just a different compound. I say that just to make sure your reading nt05r reviews and not nt05.
