I am looking for opinions on what tire to run at the drag strip

I got a set of 16x8 (prety sure z28) rims so they said the widest you can go is 255?

Do I want a MT ET Street 26x10.5-16 ? is that too wide ? do I want an ET Street Radial ? S/S et street ?

hoosier D.O.T. drag radial in 255/50/16 ?

toyo proxy TQ ?

I personally would run a ET radial...much more stable at speed and at your power level would be fine IMHO.
Do you know how raspy-*** loud that setup is going to be (if that is a catless Y)?? I have some LM2's if you are interested.

I use my stock 16" rims as my track only set-up now and run the MT 255/50/16 ET Streetn radial... I've got 400.1 rwhp and hook just fine with the M6...

So just to update I am running the MT ET street 255/50/16 tire and its pretty awesome so if you are considering it go for it !

I never liked the MT ET streets over a good slick. The best tire we ever used for your application was a 265/45/16 Kumho Ecsta V710. Yes, they do fit on 16x8s.

That is a PURE road race tire (with a VERY VERY stiff/short sidewall!!)!
