These will be lots of Road Race on these wheels, well likely autocrosses, the Welds will do the big tracks and the 11" CCW rears can be swapped to the front if needed.

I needed two sets of rims for the Ontario 1500. Racing 2 times a day for 7 days. Street tires only 140 TW or higher. 2 sets allowed for the week, driving every where.

We decided we wanted to run Yokohama AD08Rs, so I needed to go 18" to use their widest 295/30 18s. They are proven on heavier cars, predictable and good in the rain if needed. So

So these will be street duty after the race.

If anyone is curious, the offset for the CCWs is 44mm, and the Welds are 43mm. They all have fit, but no tires on them yet, but look like all will be good.

The other set are Weld RTS 77Bs.



I may get the CCW centers done in gun metal over the winter. Been spending a lot on wheels and tires, so wanted to keep this wheel purchase minimal, but a wheel set I wanted.

Not many of the Welds taken yet. They are getting the Yoks mounted right now.

My race co driver is mounting them and in the progress of moving his shop, so it might be a week or two before pics of them with tires on the car.

The car has been on that lift for 4 years now.

Are the Welds lighter? Or CCW?

I'm going to try to fit Wilwoods under my Billet Specialties with spacers and longer studs... we shall see how that turns out.

Not sure which Wilwood you are looking at, but the kit I have fit with stock 17" WS6 wheels. This is the model I have.

BTW, the high polish is the lowest price, I think the centers will get painted at a later date when funds get replenished.

The 9833s. My stock brakes barely fit under the Billet Specialties wheels. But with a half inch spacer, the 9833s should fit no issue.

If I were ever to go back to CCW wheels, those would be the ones I'd get.

Welds are 23 lbs and the CCWs 25.5 lbs. Both 18 x 11s.

I would guess the 30 ARP SS bolts weigh a bit. Plus the Welds were mid pads and the CCWs high pads.

My cast AR TTM 17 x 10.5 weigh 23.5 lbs. So not too bad all things considered.

Exactly.

I feel better beating on the car in a totally controlled environment.

That said in a purposely built car, I would love to do the Targa. A guy I have tracked with did, and started building a Challenger for it, then decided a Sierra Cosworth Rally car would be better. I think he got 3rd in the open class.

I am looking forward to the 1500. I hope the car is up to it. It has not run in 4 years and has a ton of new parts.

The 4 door sedan, AWD, Sierra Cossie, or the RWD, 2 door, RS500 type Sierra Cossie, which was a Merkur XR4Ti on this side of the Atlantic, sans the BDT Cosworth power plant (BOTH were campaigned in the WRC)??
I would go with a fully prepped, rough tarmac spec, Escort Cossie RS WRC myself.

GOOD LUCK on the 1500, sounds like a BLAST!
