Default What size tire should I run?

M6 supercharged with 550whp. Running with Hankook Ventus RS-3's size 285-35-18 right now. Best is 11.74@ 126 with a 1.89 sixty foot.

I can't decide if I should get a set of dedicated track tires and rims or go with a drag radial. I drive an hour each way to the track. The car is not a dd, doesn't see rain, it is going to see the track occasionally for now.

I thought about buying a 15" wheel and running a M/T 275-60-15 Pro. I am also considering drag radials that will fit my 18 C5 replicas.

I am conflicted, don't know which way to go. 26,27, 28 inch tire with 3.5 gears? I think I have enough power for the taller tire with bigger sidewall.

Thoughts?

With a M6 the drag radials aren't always the easiest choice so I'd suggest a dedicated 15" wheel with slicks or ET streets. As for tire diameter it depends on what the vehicle traps currently with whatever diameter it currently has. If you are not trapping close enough to shift points go shorter tire, if you are running out of gear go with a taller tire.

I hope this helps.

Car traps 126 with a 26" tire. I think I need to go with a 275-50-15 tire then.

What about the M&H? I hear great things about them.

I personally try not to put much thought into what brand is better than the other. Especially online reviews, so many people not happy with what a certain manufactures tire is doing or not doing could be horrible track conditions or out of whack suspension.

A lot of time and testing can make just about any tire to work.
