Default 275 Radial Pro vs Hoosier 295/55 Drag Radial

Just trying to decide on what tires to buy next as my current ones are toasted. I have decided on either the 275 Radial Pro or the Hoosier 295/55 Drag Radial.

Its a cam only car with 3800 stall and 4.10's, comp 3 ways out back with stock shocks up front, and adjustable tq arm. Currently have M/T 295/55 ET streets, cuts mid 1.5's 60fts when it does hook. Im just looking for a tire thats gonna be more forgiving without going to a bias ply. Im also hoping whatever tire I go with will help while on the street also, it hooks somewhat on but i gotta do alot of pedaling.

Anyone use either of these tires and have any input? Thanks.

A 275/60 Hoosier DR should be more than enough for your application. I like the hoosier more than the M/T because they seem to work better with bad prep and on the street. I was pulling a 1.5 60' at the track on a 275/45/17 Hoosier and dead hooked it on the street with barely any prep.

I got the 275/50r15 Hoosier and haven't used them much yet, but one pass I dead hooked at a "no prep" race. The track is slicker than any street I've ever been on but a squirt of VHT and roll the tires over in it real quick (throttle blip) and it dead hooked.

The sidewalls are insanely soft compared to any other drag radial.

I'm hoping they help me at the track I usually go to. What little prep gets done is destroyed by street cars tearing up rubber at the line.

I could hook a 275/50 ET radial 1-2 passes early in the night then it was spin city. Hoping these will hook more consistent.

Guys who recently bought the hoosier dot's, did you get the original tire with the 2 lines in them or the dr2 which has the squares? I'm going to order a set in the coming weeks in 255 50 16 to put on a spare pair of spare track wheels and was curious if they only sell the dr2 now.

#17317 according to Summit. I was around 16-18 on the street. 20-22 at the track.
