I plan on driving it on the street, figure 2500 miles a year.. i mean the car is going to be set up for the 1/4 mile so handling isnt the most important just don't want it to drive like a truck lol

If you aren't expecting more than 2500 miles out of a set then the MT or Hoosier is a solid choice. For me I'm wanting more like 7-10k out of mine and some handeling ability, so I'm looking more into the Toyo TQ or NT05R

If mine were going to be mainly track and some street, I'd probably go with M&H. A lot of people say they hook the best and if you're only putting 2500mi a year on it, that's what I'd try. They supposedly wear out pretty fast though since they're so soft.

If I was driving mostly strip then I'd get M&H, if mostly street with no rain then I'd get ET street radials. If rains involved, I'd probably go Toyo TQ's. Here's a recent thread talking about the m&h.

Ill look into the m&h... the car will not see rain unless by accident. few cruise nights to and from the track and some street action

Have you looked into the new et street SS? I personally run the Toyo TQ on the street and have Hoosier DR's for the track.

Me too. I went to that tire to save money and last longer. Plus they are a better street tire than the MT drs I was using.
I thought I was wasting my time with them at the track but they gave me consistent 1.6 60's https://ls1tech.com/forums/11-second...camaro-ss.html

I run the tq's also and they did decent when I was cam only. But now I just burn them off pretty easily. In 50+ degree weather I'm sideways on 60 rolls without brake boosting. They are awesome tires, but with running 17x9 wheels I don't think they'll handle 450rwhp at low rolls.

If you were running 15" wheels that have more sidewall and were wider then I think the tq's would always be my pick over any other dr. But even when I was around 390rwhp on 90+ degree days I would spin on 20 rolls, not bad, but I'd spin. It wasn't my setup either because my whole rear end is bmr adjustable, LCA relocation brackets, koni shocks, and my pinion angle is set right too. At the track they dead hooked though

I would personally rather get less milage on the tires and hook vs better tread life and less traction. Because if I lose a race because I was spinning, it will eat at me knowing that I could have won. Spinning ain't winning lol

Spot on! I have 3 cars so i will not be driving this much... I also just went nuts with the build and the Slick/skinny combo is on hold for the time being.. So for now the tire that i buy is going to be street and strip duty.. for this i think the MT is the way to go. my goal is 10.99 on this combo I'm putting together

Im looking for a 275/17 drag radial and wish there were more reviews of the new et street s/s. If they are as good as the old et street radial I would order a set. I will have to check out the toyo DR also.

I run a 315 MT ET Street Radial and they hook 850 rwhp decently on the street. Surprised me how week they actually held the power honestly.

The new et street ss is supposed to be a more street friendly version of the original et street and perform just as well at the track. I've read a handful of stuff on yellowbullet and there's a lot of mixed reviews. Some say they're good other say they're a waste of time. If mt wants to "donate" a pair to me I'll give an honest review lol.

I think for the money you can't beat the tq. They are wider than the nitto 555r and will last just as long.

^^^This is why I'm going to et street radials and I won't be driving in the rain either. If rain was involved, I'd say tq's, but for traction alone it's et's.

How much life do you get out of a set? I think if I didn't go to the track, I'd get probably 8-10k miles out of my tq's. I only got about 6k out of the set I had now and only one year, but there's at least 60-80 track passes on them. They had a little life left on them until I threw boost on the car, now they're to the wear bars lol

The original et street is still being advertised through summit, so maybe I will just stick with those.
