Default tires are rubbing please help

hello all.

I have a 02 ws6 with bilstein slp shocks/stock springs. yesterday we installed my new strano springs. Now my rear tires rub around any corner. my wheels are torq thrust 17"x 10.5" with 315s on the rear. fenders are rolled. a buddy of mine was telling me its because of the wheel offset. So, i guess my main question is (assuming he is correct) what offset should i go to? either with a 17" or 18" wheel... offset confuses the crap out of me...

thanks in advance,
Bruce

Rubbing on the outside or the inside of the tire?

Just do the BFH mod (big effin hammer). Bang up the inside of your wheel wells where the rubbing is occurring, then spray some coating over the spots to protect the exposed metal. If you're squirmy about banging up the inside of the wheel wells then this might not be an option for you. An adjustable Panhard bar to center the rear might be another option if the rubbing is happening on one side only.

For me the BFH and grinding my bumpstops a bit was all I needed. Make sure your rear is centered then find where you are rubbing. If you're lucky you should get rid of the rubbing without running a spacer.

A little more expensive but a watts linkage would help. I went this route because I'm gonna be putting 18x11 on the rear. Just waiting on the rims to be built...

i will get a watts link when i can afford it. until then i have an adj panhard bar. i got the stock back springs in right now, just until i figure this out. so its not really an offset issue, its a bfh issue. right? i know i need to cut my bump stops down too.... ok sounds like i have a plan... thanks for the help!

Cutting your bumpstops might not be necessary. I didn't have to cut mine when I had my TTM's.
