Default Tire size help

I am looking at some 17x9 rims for a 97 firebird my ? is what size tire would work the best without doing any susp mods. Thanks for the help

The SS/WS6 cars got 17x9" wheels from the factory with 275/40/17 tires. The 17x9s fit with plenty of space to spare, you can actually run 17x11s with 315s on all corners with very little mods, so you shouldn't have any issues at all assuming the offset is correct for these cars.

If you want to run a staggered look with a slightly taller rear tire I would say
265-40-17 front and 285-40-17 rear.

Are there any tire options in a 265/40/17? You'd probably have an easier time getting a 245/45/17, but those look a bit stretched on a 9" wheel IMO.

I have 17x9.5 on all corners and would run the staggered size I mentioned in the Contential brand.
