Default Drag tire question

My car has a serious traction problem on street tires, so I was wanting to make the switch to some dot approved DR'S. I currently have 18×9.5 c5z reps on my car. Would I see the same results putting drs on my 18s (like some 295 35 18) or would I be better off switching to 15s with 275 50 15s?(can't run taller than 27" tall or they hit, car is lowered 1"). My concern is the smaller sidewall on the 18s won't flex as much so the tire won't plant like it would with the 15s. Am I correct?

depends on how much power you are trying to put down. what are your mods? A4 or M6?

A good set drag radials for sure. What gear do you have? You may not want anything taller than the 275/50's which are 26", depending on the gearing you're running now. Also if you have not done so, Adj. LCA's, PHB, and Torque arm should be on your next mods for optimum traction.GL

It's 3.42 gears. LCA's and Panhard are next on the list.

A nice compromise is finding a nice pair of stock 16x8s and run the M/T 255 50 R16 DRs. They have a nice sidewall and are 26" tall which is a nice combo with the 3.42s. My car has been in the 1.50 range to 60' with them.
