Default First Runs on ET Street Radials

Finally got to run the car with the new ET Street Radials..(275/50/15)..I've had them mounted for a couple of weeks so I've put a few hundred miles of local driving..I made the 180 mile round trip to Evadale Raceway in Evadale Texas last night to take advantage of a freak cold front that made it all the way down to the gulf states this weekend..With cooler temps and low humidity's I figured this was a great time to try these new tires out...

I weighed the car with me in it and a half a tank of fuel and it was at 3660 lbs so its still a pig for sure..Since I had to work nights this weekend I knew I was only going to get about 3 runs in before I had to leave so I left everything alone without changing anything other then taking 1/2 lb of air out of the tires on the last pass..

1st run ..Tires at 15 lbs..10 lbs of air in the air bag
60'... 1.67 TEMP..87.1...............7:35PM
330'... 4.81 RH.....44.43
1/8th..7.52 BP.....29.70
1000'..9.87 HPC...1.02
ET.....11.85
MPH...114.30

2nd run..Tires at 15lbs
60'......1.63 TEMP....82.9...............8:27PM
330'.....4.74 RH....... 50.57
1/8th...7.42 BP....... 29.69
1000'...9.75 HPC..... 1.01
ET......11.724
MPH....114.74

3rd run...Tires at 14 1/2 lbs
60'....1.63 TEMP.......81.7............8:45PM
330'...4.73 RH.........52.57
1/8th..7.41 BP..........29.70
1000'..9.74 HPC.......1.01
ET....11.707
MPH..114.97

Corrected Alt. stayed around 2500' above most all evening..But first impressions of the tires are great because the car dead hooked on all 3 passes..The first pass I flashed the converter from 2600 RPM the last 2 I flashed it from 3000 RPM.. On all 3 passes I shifted at 6600 RPM and crossed at 6800 RPM..I wished I could've stayed a little longer because I'm certain the 60' would've dropped and a little more ET could've been had..A freind stayed and his car picked up after 9pm because of the cooler temps..

But IMOP this is the best Street/Strip tire I've run and I've just about tried everything out there available..If fact I'm calling McCormack Racing in the morning to order a second set just to have on hand...

15 lbs on the first 2 and 14 1/2 on the last..I didn't know where to start at and with only time for a few passes I started at 15..I read a article in Hotrod a few issues ago and they ran their best passes at 15 PSI..

Yes I do..The M&H is a good tire but the radials drive so much better to and from the track and since its almost a 200 mile round trip thats a big plus..Plus I think with a little more track time and cooler temps the tire will really show there stuff..

The way NPR preps their track for the Shoothern Shootout and November weather it will be interesting to see how they perform..

Awesome - looks like I'll go with the MT instead, then. Thanks!
