Default What to make these fit? alumastars

I am wanting to get the 15x10 alumastars that have a 5in backspacing. I was told i need 7in. Do i need to get a rear end that has been shortened on both sides? Will this relocated any of my mounts or give me probelms. Dont have rear right now was going to buy one just wanted to get it all stright before i start ordering stuff.

I think you can shorten your rear like 3" before getting into stuff (not counting bump stops, and fender. There's a pic I saw this morning in this forum of a car with 15x10's with 5" of backspacing...look there...

I bought a used set of rear magnum drags which should essentially fit like the alumastars and they fit without a shortened rearend. Problem is I'm not sure what the backspacing is. I bought them from a boardmember so I will ask him and let you know. They are on a standard Moser 12 bolt and fit with the regular grinding of the calipers like any other Weld wheel with out a spacer. Here are two pics.

Rob Raymer had a 12 bolt narrowed 2 inches on each side for his Telstars on the project formula. I assume he is using a 5 inch back spacing.

DopefedZ- please get the back spacing info on those wheels! I was looking in Jegs the other day and they only seemed to have the magnum drags in a 3,4, and 5 in back spacing also.

I've got a 5 bs on my Pro Stars and have a custom 9" that was narrowed 2" per side. Cut the bump stops, bfh some spots on the inner fender well and I have Wilwood brakes. Sweet rims on dope's car, though I'd guess they not a 5" bs or they'd have more of a dish.

hey guys,

perfect timing!!! i just got my 9" Moser yesterday which is narrowed 2"/side. 15x10 with 5" bs is exactly what i am going to do too.

hey Next!?!? what size tires are those? i would like to run a 28" tall, is that what yours is? part # please.

also, i talked to discount tire today, and was told i can use the 17x11 w/36mm offset and at worst use a 1/2" spacer to get the proper look and clearance. excellent!!! ( good thing i got those longer studs)

2" gives you more room, and still leaves an option of running a stock type ZR1 rim.

thanks for the pics, even though it's not my thread.

The tires are Hoosier 28x10.5. Where you buy them from would each have their own part number so that won't help much. Make sure you test fit any rims before mounting a tire on them or you'll own 'em. By the way, nice choice on your future converter.
