Default Which wheels for my TA: C5 or ZR-1?

I have a set of chrome C5 "wagon wheel" stye wheels with brand new tires, 17" up front, 18" out back. My friend had a firebird with chrome ZR-1's on it that he ended up selling and is now needing to sell the wheels to buy another car. The tires are completely bald on the ZR-1's, so he told me he'd sell them to me for $350. There's minor curb rash on two of the wheels, but there's also some minor curb rash on two of my C5's. So the question is what should I do? I mounted up two of each of the wheels on my car and took some pictures:

I had to use the two 17's on the C5's since I haven't gotten the tires mounted on the 18's yet. I thought about buying the ZR-1's and keeping them for a while until the C5's tires are worn out or I want something different (like 17x11's out back ). I think I'm becoming a wheel ***** as this is my fifth set of wheels for this car in less than 5k miles .

So I guess my question is should I buy the ZR-1's or just stick with the C5's ?

I think the ZR1's look much nicer. They just work with the car a lot better. Plus, it's easier to hook with 17" rears, than 18". I'm actually trying to decide between C5 Y2K's and 10-spoke SS's myself, and I'm thinking about the SS's. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the replies. I am not terribly concerned about the hooking abilities of the 18's because I'll only be using them on the street. I've got other wheels I'll be using for drag radials and what not. I've already had Y2K's on the car, but now I'm kind of looking for something different.

The ZR-1's have completely bald tires, so I'd have to buy new tires for them, and since the C5's tires only have 500 miles on them, I wouldn't be using the ZR-1's until the C5's tires wear out. And since I've only put 5k miles on the car in the past 2 years, that may be a while. . .

Plus a hot girl I showed the pictures to, who knows nothing about cars, said she liked the C5's better because she thought the ZR-1s are too common .

Anywho, keep the opinions coming .

You might as well post a pic of the girl while you're at it since you know these guys are gonna ask for it.

LOL

Wink

If you decide not to take the ZR1's, I'll take them. Just send me your friend's contact info and I'll make the drive to Houston.

Brian, I don't think Amber would be too excited about me showing you pictures of cute girls .

Texfinn - My friend isn't really enthusiastic about selling the wheels, he just needs money and knows that if I don't use the wheels I'll sell them back to him if he gets another F-body.

I think I'll probably buy the wheels just as backup wheels (since I already have two more sets of backup wheels ) and keep my eye open for some 17x11's. Thanks for the help everyone.

I say ZR1's and make sure you get the 11's out back. Every TA that I've seen with 9.5" in the back looks bad IMO.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I will be getting the ZR-1's. I'm not going to drive on them until I get tires for them though, and that may be a while. In the mean time I most likely will keep my eyes open for some 17x11's .

Never mind, turns out the ZR-1's had damage on them I didn't notice, so I'm not going to be buying them . Thanks for the opinions from you guys, hopefully they can help someone else out in the future .
