i got black zr1's and i love how they look, but if i was to redo it, i'd go with z06s, and these are the reasons:
1. the moment you go beyond 275's, the tire selection is getting small, and prices skyrocket. you can have kumho mx in 285 for like 150bux, but if you want a decent tire in 315, get ready to pay 250+
2. weight! 17x11 zr1's are almost 26lbs each. 18x9.5 z06's are 21lbs 4 lbs doesn't sound like much, but there's 4 of them, then there's the whole thing with it rotating, not just moving inertia...yea, z06s are great, especially for the price.
3. it takes more time to warm up a bigger tire, so first 15 mins on 315s they act worse than the stock 16s (but you still get to look cool )
4. 315s are HUGE. the good part is that once it's warmed up, the grip is unreal, but in regular driving, you are catching every pothole in existence, and with stiff sidewall and most probably suspension (wheels are great improvment, but combine them with some shocks/springs and you got z06's covered) it feels like riding on a stiff board. that's absolutely unnecessary. that tire is so wide it will try to follow into every groove, uneven pavement, hole, etc. making the performance jittery, the nose follows the road, not the straight line you have it pointed at. and that's with 275s in the front!
5. the width of my car is 74" if i recall correctly. the width of a lot of trailers is: 74" yes, it's doable to put the car on it, but it takes some serious 3 person navigation and precision driving
6. i got the wide offset 315s, and even with the panhard bar, they stick out a tiny bit. looks cool, but when you corner properly, you might rub the top of the wheelwell/body on the very edge of the tire. so you would probably be better off with slightly smaller tires, but lower suspension, as you could 'tuck' the tires under the wheelwell completely. lowering your center of gravity could probably have a nice extra handling to make up for smaller (but by no means small!) tire.
6. not all tire shops can mount 315s, first time i tried to put some tires on them i called 5 different places before i found a shop that can do it right.
7. you really don't need 315s, unless you are a super-badass-1.0Gs at all time professional. 285s with good rubber (I love you KD's!) should be more than adequate for 99% of people out there.
