You're not gonna hook on an 18" DR anyway, might as well go 19s

LoL, you are probably right, but I figured any help I could get on the street would be nice. Any recommendation on a good, sticky 19" tire then?

I have the EVO's. THe 19's Look really really sweet on a lowered car but their kinda heavy and as you said no DR's avail. GO with teh 18's. If your not going to the track alot youll be fine. Or do what I do. RUn DR's on your stock setup and swap to the HP's when your out pimpin.

I dont mind the trade off of switchiong wheels because handling is as important to me as speed and those 19's with all my suspension mods feels like AWSOME in teh back counrty roads.

Just my 2cents

Thanks guys. I probably just go with the 19's. My car is no lowered though, so i hope i can find the right tire size to fill out the wheel well. Whats the widest tire you think will fit on the back?

the HP's only come 9.5 wide SO the biggest I would go back there is 275. I run 275/30/19 with NO clearance issues and Im lowered. I do wish however that I had gotten 275/35or40/19's because the 30's leave a littel rooom in the wheel well.

I would consider going 18's and getting 275/40/18 Nitto 555R's in teh front and 275/40/18 Nitto 555DR's in the back.

godd luck either way you go!!!!!! Those rims make the F-body look sick.

Are yours the silver, or the hyper silver? I cant decide what color to go with yet. My car is black so i thought about the darkers centers with the polished lip. But I dont know what the difference is b/t the 2 silver colors either.

Mine are the lighter of the two, I do think that the Hyper (Darker) would look pretty sweet on a black car too though. The deep polished lip just looks sick in person.

Thanks. Do you happen to know if Nitto makes a 275/35/ 19? Cheapest "decent" tire i could find in that size was Bridgestone Pole-postion+ (something or other) and the Michelin pilot sport 2's. $285 a piece

Ah NM, on that question, just saw on their site that 30 series is the tallest.

I gotta say, The Nittos run a littel narrow. But when it comes to Handleing (which is all your going to be doing with a 19" rim) the Nittos ROCK. THeir sidewall is really firm and has a nice little curb rash lip there to protect your rim a bit. I couldnt see paying the $300 a tire for the pilots or pirelli's.

I guess im gonna have to fork over the cash. Im not lowered, and I think the 30's would look kinda getto on my ride, with 3in of space b/t the tire and wheel well, lol. Ah well, I guess you gotta pay to play.

Thanks for everything.

Time to chime in here. I currently run these rims in the 18" variety. Total cost including Nitto Nt555's was under $1200. My car is lowered 2 inches in the front and I get nothing but compliments.

Are those 18x8's or 18x9's?

I'm running 18X9's and am happy with them.

Revelation, the 30s won't look any more ghetto than factory tires. They have the same height (26") as factory tires, and your speedometer won't be off if you go with them.

I run Nitto 275/30/19s all the way around and I'm very happy with their ride and handling. The wheels on my car are Hyper Silver Light 19x9.5

I thought your car was lowered? If not then the 30 series would work great, because I like the way yours fit. I dont want to lower my car, with LT's in these mountains, I scrape all the time as it is.

you missed my point. The 19s with the 30 series tires are the exact same height as the stock tires that are on your car right now (assuming you have a stock tire size on your car). Just because they are "30" series doesn't make them any shorter than other tires, it just means the profile is shorter because the wheel itself is larger.

So, whatever wheel gap you currently have on your car with the stock wheels, it will be the exact same gap with 19s/30s.

My car is lowered 1.5" all around. They look kinda goofy at stock height
