Default 275s on 15x7 Telstars???

I want to run a 15 x 7, 5" offest Telstar to eliminate the damned wheel sticking 3 foot out from the fender....but I was wondering would a 275 Nitto Drag fit on that 7" wide wheel???? if not what are some recommendations for a good radial that offers superior dry traction, and some decent wet traction.

Thanks,
-Bo-

i dont think so, you're going to want around a 9" rim for 275's

so can anyone tell me what rim size and tire size they would suggest for a setup that would line up at the top of the fenderwell?

You can fit a 275 on a 15x7 but the sidewalls will be pulled in pretty bad. I run a 275x50x15 BFGoodrich Radial TA on a 15x7 wheel on my Monte and the sidewalls are pretty drastically pulled in.

I wouldn't say dangerously. I've had them like that for about 6 years, but I don't push the car hard in turns or anything. BFGoodrich recommends a 7.5 - ?? width rim for a 275/50/15 drag radial, so it isn't too far off on their recommendations. Don't know how adversely it effects a drag radials ability to hook since the side wall isn't optimum.

I had a 15 x 8 and can't remember if I ran a 245/50 or a 275/50 but I would have sworn 275.

well i wont be driving this car a whole ton...but i wanted some DRs for not so perfect weather. I just dont wanna run a 15x8 w/ a 5" BS....i wish telstar would make me a 5 1/2, but they said they dont, even tho they have the build the rim anyways ????

anyone have pics of something close to this setup???

I can try and get some pics of what the tires look like on my car. If I get a chance, I'll try and get them tonight.

Well, my setup is on a Monte Carlo, not my Trans Am. I can take pics to show you what the tire (275/50/15) will look like on a 15x7 rim. Don't know if that will help you or not.

Here are some pics I took of the tires last night. Don't know if they help you or not. They show how the sidewall is tucked in on the 7" wheel. Unfortunately its not on a 5" backspace wheel on an F-body.

I know for BFG DR specs, it says you can run the 275/50/15 on as small as a 7" wheel.

the 2nd picture down makes me a lil queasy!!

http://bedford.no-ip.org/Centerline_Telstars.htm
here it is on a LT1 TA

I talked to Trevor @ TSP a while back, and he said he ran a 15x7 Convo Pro w/ a 9" or 9.5" Hoosier and it fit about the way I want mine to....or at least looked ok because it was his drag setup and you would expect some tire hanging out, i dunno how a radial would like that way.... heres a link to that pic.
