Will 335-30-18 fit on 18X10.5 rims???
Have a chance to buy some Viper tires pretty decent, 335-30-18, and want to mount them on my Black Motorsports Z06 rims which are 18X10.5...will these fit SAFELY? I know they will bulge out a lot, but are they going to be safe? Anyone done this combo before?
Thanks

you can check the spec of the tire on tire rack. They'll tell you the smallest rim width the tire should be on.
Most tire manufact. recommend no smaller than a 10 inch for a 315

But you also have to take into consideration that different tire companies have different ideas on how big a 315 is, for example Nitto's DR 315 is really a 305 compared to other tires, and I've seen Nitto 315's mounted on 9 inch rims fine.

All a 335 is going to do on a 10.5" rim is give the same contact patch as say a 305 tire and and add a bunch of unnecessary power robbing weight to the rear wheels.

some say no smaller than 10, some say 10.5, some say 11. I've NEVER seen any tire company recommend slapping a 315 on a 9. People do it all the time, but it ain't my bag

Michelin spec sheet says no less than a 12" no more than a 13" wide wheel for their 335.
Beyond the fact that its outside the manufacturers suggested rim size, it will also wear imporperly, not have full contact patch, and yes...it will bulge. The Pilots are another one of the wider tires on the market as well.
I love a good deal as much as anyone, but Id let that one slide
