Default front tires

I've been looking into some front tires (275/40 R17) for my daily driver 2000 TA. I'm looking for a tire with great dry traction, moderate wet traction, and stiff sidewall for cornering. I have nitto 555 DRs on the back and love them, now i just need some great cornering tires for the front. I've found 3 tires that fit my budget range: Goodyear F1 GS-D3, Falken FK-451, and Nitto 555R II.

Anybody who has these tires on the front, how do they handle? My main concern is great steering response and great cornering ability. I'm not as concerned with wet traction b/c i normally dont drive when it's raining anyways.
I'm leaning towards the nitto 555R II b/c they seem to be as sticky as the DRs and are made for better cornering.

Any other front tires suggestions for handling?

Jimmy

I've got the GSD3's on the front since April w/ Nitto DRs in the back. I think it's a great combo. Much better than the stock F1s. I run 'em at about 38 psi. I run the Nittos at about 24-25 for daily driving. I've found good results. The Nittos at 28-30 handled better, but wore too much in the middle. I know this is more info than you asked for but I figured I'd share.

Anyone know much about the Bf Goodrich KDW NT or 2......i've seen it written both ways. All i know is the tread pattern is way different from the KDW. They dont come in 275/40 R17 but they do come in 255/40 R17.

I had the BFG KDW 275/40 17 before my Pirellis and for a warm weather tire they were sweet and they hooked awesome. But the Pirellis were an all season and cheaper so I went that route.

I have not heard anything about these new KDW. The GS-D3 look sweet for a tread pattern but I would have gone with the KDW again for a warm weather tire.

You really wont be disappointed no matter which way you go. Im currently running the fk451s on my DD and very happy. The d3 is an amazing tire when its in stock and the KDw2 looks so cool and has a huge contact patch.

wow...I didnt help at all
