Question Will this option work?

I was wondering if this would work. I am at the brink of ordering new TTT's and was wondering if I went with all 17x9.5's if the use of a 1/2" spacer on the rear would bring out the wheels to fill up the fender well area. I like the look of the 17x11's but not the availability and $$$ of the 315/35 series tires. Plus I really want to be able to rotate and dont want to have to perform a BFH and bump stop mod. Hell maybe someone out there has this style set up, If so do you have pictures of what it looks like on the rear? I have a set of 1/2" spacers for 5 lug cars and know I would have to use longer studs, which brings me to my next question....what length of replacement stud has everyone been using when installing 1/2" spacers? Thanks in advance peoples!!!

The 17" x 9.5" TT2's come with a 44 or 46 mm offset from what I recall. 1/2" sounds excessive. 5/16" mathmatically changes the wheel offset to 38 mm, which is ideal IMHO.

Thanks a lot, I guess I will either look for a 5/16 spacer or leave them alone. I appreciate your help.

Question

In your opinion which size tires would be a better fit/look, 275/40/17's or 285/40/17's. I know the diamater is a little bigger but would the 285's look more meatier than the 275's , or is there not that much difference? I have seen them on 11" rims but I havent seen any pics of 285's on 9.5" rims. I hate to ask so many questions but I want everything to be right on the first purchase!! Thanks again for any/all help.

They'd be a bit meatier. Alhough with all the differences between tire makers, it could be tough to see . . .
