Just curious what the best combination for wheel/tire size would be for high speed handling?

17's? 18's? 19's?

Also, say hypothetically, 18's are the best for handling, would I want something like 18x10 rear and 18x9 front, or 18x10 on all four corners?

Well it is a balance in power/weight/suspension. If your a higher power car more side wall helps. weight and suspension mean wider tires.

It is crazy but I run a 17x11 rear with 315 and 17x10 front with 275.

Another thing to think about is tire size vs. rim size like 10"-275 mean very little flex and 11"-315 a little flex and drag racers have huge tires on little rims flex on launch but also on corners!

But my nittos are 555R and 555RII meaning reinforced walls!

PSJ- Both actually. If I had a set of BFG G-force, or Michelin Pilots (I'm guessing those are a few of the better street tires), I would use them on the street and road course.

I'm trying to focus the car more on comfort and handling, but I'm not going to make it a dedicated road racer.

2FAST4U- It is a relatively heavy higher hp car (3,780lbs, 800+rwhp).

Yes 17x11 and 17x10 would be better and if the car was a little lower would help as 3780lb is alot of roll weight! As far as the tire goes hooking on a those tire isn't going to happen. I have a hard time on 315 nitto 555R's. so side wall will be needed.

Not wet/rain friendly but the Nitto 555rII are very nice for street better would be Victorracers. and best would be Hoosiers roadrace tires.

But with that weight and power suspension will we hard too.

I will have 800rwhp and weight ?3400lb? with the nittos. I can't run any smaller of a front rim due to Wilwood 6pistions brakes.

I'd have to say the smallest diameter, largest width wheel that will fit over the brake calipers. You want to keep as little weight as possible, and simple physics tells you that a smaller wheel is going to weigh less than a bigger one.

Smaller diameter wheel means bigger sidewall, means bad in the turns.

No it doesnt mean bigger sidewall. Thats only if you need to keep the same tire height, which you dont need to do when you're worried about road racing.
