Default Need Help...How wide of a tire on an 8" rim?

Hi guys, I just reciently purchased a camaro and the wheels on it are aftermarket. They look ok but they are pretty narrow and look kinda goofy. I just got them checked out and they are 18-8" wide. I'm planning to put bigger tires on the rear but how wide can I go? As of now they have some cheep 245's on them which takes hardly any effort to brake them loose. If I can't put anything bigger than a 275 on them I will just end up selling them but I wanted to see what you guys thought before I did. Any responses will be appreciated.

275 is the biggest I would recommend going because if you put a 295 or 315 you run into tire wear problems because the tire stretches to meet the rim.
8 inch rim + 315 tire = bad idea. just my .02

I wouldn't put a 275 on a 8" wheel . . . 255/265 max . . .
