What drag rims other than Bogarts will fit LS1 rears?
I have the LS1 rears on my LT1 and i'm having trouble finding rims for the rear. I'm looking at either Centerline or Welds - can you guys give me information on what rims provided by these 2 companies will fit and what modifications are needed for them?
I'm looking at either 8" or 10" rims to fit 275-50-15 DR's.
Thanks!

Obviously, I personally feel Bogarts are the best choice benifiting from weight, appearance, fittment and performance standpoint. They may not meet every persons budget.
If cost was my MAIN concern, I would personally consider a weld prostar or draglite 15x10, any of the smaller rims either centerline or weld do not have proper backspace setting. Centerlines are quite heavy being the heaviest out of the three drag choices.
Prostar/draglite rims are a nice ecomomy minded solution, you have to modify your car a bit to make it work. You certainly need at min 2.5 studs 3 inch recommended. Keep in mind, the long studs may not look appealing with stock or aftermarket street rims due to the studs will protrude essentially 1.5 inches more then what they do now. More then likely, you will need to run only open lugs from now on.
Why not choose an 8 inch weld or centerline rim if your axles aren't shortened??...A stock F-body 8 inch rim has a backspace ranging from 6.25-6.75 (depends on the year). This means if you choose a weld or centerline 15x8 with a backspace of 5.5, your rim will stick outward .75-1.25 inches MORE then what it currently does. If you are fine with this, then so be it. The smaller rims also limit your choices on tires. 26x11.5 or 275's fit easily under an F-body (with the correct backspace), you should not put this size tire on an 8 inch rim.

If you have LT1 brakes, the welds should bolt right up with a spacer, I believe. Again, convo pros bolt right up, but the 8's stick out ghetto and the 7's are just too small.
I've got pics on my webpage you can check out. Will have pics of the Bogarts this weekend.

Thanks guys
These are my buddies Telstars on his '96 - is this what you guys mean by sticking out? If so, I can live with this because I think it looks fine. These are 15x8 with 5" backspacing

What rim size are the Convo Pro's? 15x8 5" back? Do they make it in a 5.5" back? What about ProStars - what size for the rears? The fronts are still LT1 so I can figure those out - it's the rears that are giving me a headache on deciding.

I have weld prostars on my car 15x8 w 5.5 bs rear and they do not stick out of my fender at all. I had to grind the caliper and a 5/16 wheel spacers. Highway drive on them with stock studs on it. Been driving it on stock studs for about five thousand miles now and have had 4 track passes. I have 275/60r15 bfg radial t/a, you will also have to roll the fenders or else this size tire will rub.

Yes I run 275/60r15 just because I like the way it fills the fender wells. Yes with the 60 series you will have to roll the fenders. I dont believe you have to on th 50 series. Glad I could be of help. Chris
