Anyone run 275 on 11" rim?
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has run a 275 tire on a 11" rim?
Right now, I'm running the 315 Nitto, but I was thinking that the GY F1D3 would last a bit longer. The 315 version is $300 while the 275 version is $200. That's a big difference.
Or I could get some 275 Fuzions for $100ea. and just burn them up drifting and what not. With the 555R's I can't spin them much at all. Which is good, but I miss the burnouts and the powerslides. Anyone have any ideas if they will fit OK?

Aside from looks, do you think they would wear evenly and have a good contact patch, or should I not even waste my time?
I saw that the Yoko A032's have dropped in price to the $200 range in 315. They have the stiffer autocross style sidewall the drag radials don't. I may look into those.
As a side note, I was toying with the idea of having my 11" TTII rims narrowed to 9.5 or so on the inside hoop. I'd still have the fat lip on the outside, but can use the 275 tires all around. I doubt I'd do it, but the thought has occured to me.

I would kinda like a cheap set of 275's just to burn up. I can't afford another set of rims, though. Maybe I should get a used set of factory rims and cheap 245/60/16's just to smoke up and slide around on?

Being taller and wider, it must "look" better than the 275/40/17, for those of you into looks.
HAS anyone used a 285/40/17 on an 11" rim?

I just checked my photo collection and guess what, I have some pics of an unknown 285 tire on an 11" rim. You can tell it's a tight squeeze, but it doesn't look too bad.
The GY F1D3 has a reputation of being pretty wide for it's size. So it my look even better.

I run 285's on 11's 4 corners. I actually like it like that even though I'd prefer a 315 w/ a wide look. Doesn't look bad and handles a little better due to the less side wall deflection. Matter of preference that's all. Not to mention cheaper too if you're on a budget for whatever reason.

I'm starting to think I would regret getting the smaller size. It just looks off a little, enough to bug me, I'm sure. I guess I'll just have to get the Nitto 555R or the Yoko A032's.
Maybe I'll score some extra 16's to do burnouts with to scratch that itch when it comes knocking. Thanks guys.

Hi Guys
One of the issues will be to get the tires to bead on the rims. I had 315/35/17 on 11" rims and they had a real hard time getting them to bead - I would have to think getting the 275 to push out the sidewalls over the beads would be real pain in the backside. The place I took the tires and rims was Tire Plus. Just my two cents.

I'm definetely leaning toward the yoko A032's. They should handle quite a bit better than the Nitto in 315. Eugenio, which of the compounds would you recommend? There are several offered.
Also, how noisy are they?

Im running 285/40/17 on an 11" rear. It looks ok and the price was right. They are taller by .300 and that will throw the spedo off by 1-2 mph $250 a tire is a bit much for me to spend on rear tires. I paid $150 for a 285 MX
No way Im buying tires with 6/32 tread depth when new... Maybe someday when when I stop driving my car every day I will run different tires

As for the compound I use, I use the H-compound, not the S-compound.
The H-compound has been good to me on the street and Auto-X... great in wet conditions.... way better than the AVS-Sports.
For some reason the A032R aren't cheap in the States... here, they are cheaper than Kuhmo's V700s.
Just one note, Yoko is gonna discontinue the H-compound, so you better hurry if you want them.
