Default Ok to remove bumpstops?

Hey Bumpstops are a pain in my ***, and I've probly never even hit them. Is it cool if i just cut them out all together from the fender down?

Just take them out. Unless you plan on taking the car airborne......then in that case leave them in.

If it bothers you not having them there, you can always get bumpstops that go around the shock shaft. Like the ones you find on aftermarket Koni's

Good luck,
Kevin

No bumpstop needed. They get in the way of making your rim/tire combo SEX

look in your rear fenders, its a metal piece sticking out in the middle of your back fenders with a rubber bumper attatched to it. hard to miss

Here are what the rears look like.

If you are at stoock rear height, you can take them out without any problems. If you are lowered, you will need them.

I would NEVER remove them . . . Body / suspension / tire damage is inevitable without them, especially in a lowered car . . . GM doesn't put, unessecary part on their cars . . .

They do play it overly safe, though. The bumpstops they use are overly stiff and limit usable suspension travel.

To clarify your response, I will say that the axle will hit the exhaust pipe, first, then the DeCarbon shocks will bottom internally.

I ran 315's for a quite a while at stock height with no bumpstops and had no problems, I also measured the rear travel just to make sure. I did a whole write up if anyone is interested.
