you should dismount the tires before painting the rims.. and looks like you have some light spots that need touching up. i think the color change will look good on ur car tho!

why should i dismount the tires before painting the rims? so when i go to get them mounted the paint gets messed up?

also the paint is fine on the rims...did a few coats.....i think its the way the silver flake looks in the flash.

It holds up great I did some 16" 5 stars in the same color and brand, I sold them and the paint is still fine after 2 1/2 years

+1. Good luck getting that off the tires. All the rims I've ever painted I've had the tires dismounted. If they can mount a tire on chrome they can mount a tire on paint. Looks good, just hope you prepped the rims propperly or else that will be chipping off in a couple months. Prep as in sanding, primer, paint, and optional clear(helps it hold it much better)

I do think that color will look great on the car!

I taped everything off...i dont have the money to pay to take them off and put them back on....that would take the spending on this lil project from 10 bucks to like 70-80 when its unnecessairy.
the tires are fine....paint looks great..and if it chips at all in the next few months, i suppose ill find it somewhere in my heart to shell out the 5 bucks to touch up.

thanks everyone for the nice remarks.....I think it was worth taking the risk of messing up to be a tad different from the rest.I think the end result will look hella good. when the new rear end gets put in the car ill definitely remember to post some picks for you.
thanks again.
