Default ET Street Vs. ET Street DR In The Rain

Just wondering what peoples exp. was with these 2 tires.
I have been running the DR and they hook like a bitch.
I have a new set of Bogart rims on the way and I need to order tires.
Steve @ SJM says the ET Street will save me 8 lbs. a tire.
That's fine as long as the first time I hit wet pavement I don't crash my car.
The DR aren't good in the rain either.
But I can take side roads and still make it home.

Horerack take it from me..... you better not be caught in the rain with either of those tires. you will wreck your car if you do. i came so close to totaling my car it wasnt even funny. of the two the radials will be a little better, but they are the ones i had on when i was sliding sideways down the road ...... good luck

The DRs are HEAVIER than the regular ET Streets? Can someone confirm this? I thought the bias-ply was heavier and added more drag. 8 lbs of rotating mass is significant, but it seems the DRs trap better than the bias plys, is that due to less drag from the radial design? I'm about to order a set of one or the other and need to know which will work for me (track only tires).

None of the above. Rain + any ET Street is an accident waiting to happen.

The weight of the drag radial is made up in how good they work. Sold my bias ply ET Streets after I tried the ET Street Drag Radials.

I was driving up from miami and got caught in a down pour. The car I was driving had Nitto555r on it and we were all over the place. If your gonna get ET street don't get them to drive on the road.

The DRs are alittle sketchy in an all out down pour but not to bad if it's just sprikling. Steve is right about the wieghts, and the differance maybe even more. An M/T 275/50/15 is 28-30lbs.

I almost went with the dr's instead of the ET streets because I like that radials don't deform, but the weight difference is so big that I had to go with the bias ET street,

anybody looking for weights they are right on MT's website.

The ET street I went with was

28X12.50-15LT it weighs 24 lbs a tire

the alternative was the MT drag
P325/50R15 which weighs 36lbs a tire

so going with the ET Streets saved about 24 lbs total between the two tires and this is rotational mass. I still am at a toss up somewhat though cause I like the trap speed of a radial but I ended up going with the lighter tire due to the little voice inside.

yeah with et streets you will be all over the place. Never heard anything on the radials in the rain, but I have heard they hook as good or better at the track than the et streets.
