Default 26x11.5x16 on stock 16x8 Okay to run?

Hello yall i bought some stock 16x8 z28 rims. The rims came with some 26x11.5x16 ET streets on them. I looked at the M/T tire charts and they recomend a 10.5. Is it ok to run this size tire on the stock rims?

I ran through 3 sets (i believe) of that exact size on 16" stock rims. No problems, just good traction.

IIRC: The sticker that is on the tire when new states it is approved for a 8" rim. I am sure you could call them to verify.

I'd like to hear opinions on this myself...

I just got in a set of M/T ET Streets, 26x11.5x16. Arrived on my doorstep today.

I originally ordered the M/T ET Street Radials 255/50-16, but I got sent the wrong tire!

I just want to know if they'll safely work with my stock 16x8 wheels sitting in my garage before I send em' back.

I also heard the wrinkle wall will help absorb some of the shock when launching, especially if you have a T56.

Well i been running them for a couple of months without any problems they hook up very well. But would like to hear some other opinions as well. I remeber reading a post awhile ago were a couple of other memebers were running them on the 16x8 without any problems without tubes as well.

I used to run that setup before I really needed them with no problems. Now I wish I would have kept them.
