What kind of Tires?
Hey guys,
Well my tires are bald and my father saw them when I went over to wash and wax my car at his house. He said he will pay for all four, I'll just have to pay him back. I want the GS-D3 tires, but I can't find them ANYWHERE, it's the tire I want because of all the great reviews and such. I emailed goodyear as to when more of them would be available but I'm still waiting on the response.
Here is my question, If I can't get my hands on GS-D3 tires, what tires would you guys recomend that hooks good and has a good treadlife? I live in Wisconsin so my car isn't driven in the winter ( april/mayish-november ) but it does get driven in the rain somedays so I'll need some decent rain traction aswell. I'd like to wait until tax time so I can get some 17" for the back so I can slap some bigger tires ( I have the stock 16" Trans Am polished rims ) but these tires are pretty bald. I can only use a 245 for now, and I don't know all that much about the 50 part ( I think that's sidewall height ).
I looked on tirerack.com and was reading reviews but I'd like to know some opinions of you guys. Oh and I'm also not going to be putting big power down anytime soon, I will have a lid and GMMG exhaust soon, and next year probably headers and ORY ( maybe a PnP TB ) but that's about all until the car is paid off.
Thanks in advance guys.

Felix I just ordered a set on Tues. from my local discount tire. 315/35/17 and 275/40/17 for 1169. I also went with them due to all the excellent reviews. If you cant get those maybe KDW's?

I was happy with my BFG g-force TA KDW's. I think they have changed/updated them now. They were about $135/ea for 245/50-16 a couple years ago. Great wet and dry traction with a treadware rating of 300.
"That 50 part" is sidewall height as a percentage of width (I believe). I'm sure you can find a great explanation of what it all means on tirerack's website and/or through searching this site.
