Default Maitenence of Black Powercoated Wheels

I am looking to swap my chrome 18" Z06 wheels with some black motorsport 18" Z06 wheels, the ones with the polished lip and rivets. The only problemn is that I am worried about the maitenence of the black powdercoat. I work with a lot of black powdercoated items at work and it scratches VERY easily. Its tough to get it looking good. It's impossible to get scratches out. Maybe we use crappy powdercoat, but I don't know. I would like your thoughts on black powdercoated wheels. How easy/hard are they to maintain? Does the polished lip oxidize easily? Thanks!

I find it hard to believe that powdercoat scratches easily. On 3 of my motorcycles I had the rims powdercoated black and I wiped them down almost after every ride and they always looked great. I would say do the same maintainence I do with my chorme rims, use Z6 with a microfiber towel. I try to wipe them down as much as possible. When washing the car, I just wash them just like the rest of the car.

Do you put a clear coat over it ? Maybe that would help keeep them clean longer. You know put that second layer on it.

I don't think they scratch very easy. I would think its cheaply done or just not done correctly... I do know what you mean because my LCA relocation brackets were scuffed up when I got them in.

The black Z06 motorsports are not powdercoated, they are painted. I put a little scratch in mine when I dropped a lug on a wheel...

I have black powdercoated ZR1s from AFS and the powdercoat is great. It doesn't scratch easily and cleans off very well.
