Default What kind of tread life can I expect on Nitto 555R's?

Well, 555's in the front and 555R's in the back. Street driving with the occasional trip to the track, or putting a ricer in his place is all I'm looking at. But with basically, normal driving, how many miles can I expect to get out of them?

I think I've read that they average 5,000 miles.

dont listen to loudmouth. only listen to people that have had them on their car and had real experience with them.

i have had a couple sets of 555r - i have always gotten 16-18K miles out of them. the key is to drive on them at 22-24 psi and dont go higher. higher psi wears out the middles so fast it isnt funny. they also hook the best on the street at that psi so thats an extra bonus.

So, should my 555RII's be able to last that long as well?
I've got about 4K miles on them and they are more than 50% used up.
EDIT:
They don't give a mile rating for my RII's,

This is from Nittos site,
"The Nitto NT-555R Extreme Drag Radial Tire is an exciting addition to the specialty performance radial tire segment of the Nitto Tire Product Line. With the NT-555R Nitto engineers succeeded in designing a DOT approved, drag racing radial tire. Nitto Tire demanded a tire that would outperform all drag racing radial tires, provide impressive control and handling, and still deliver up to 15,000 miles of tread life of normal street-driving use. NT-555R's are manufactured with the original tread depth of 6/32nd's of an inch and are constructed with a specially formulated soft racing tread compound to provide maximum traction. However, this soft and flexible tread will wear much quicker than tread compounds formulated for regular passenger cars. The Nitto NT-555R is designed primarily for competition drag racing.

The IIs have a stiffer sidewall and are used more for autoXing. I got about 10K with my 555Rs, but stay out of the rain when they start to wear.

Exactly right about the rain. Especially if you're running 315's, every drop of rain on the road will run to your tires. I got about 10-12K out of the 4 sets I had but I got tired of changing them so often. I do a lot of highway driving and went through them too quick. I'm now running BFG TA's. They are wearing quite well and seem to grip pretty good, not as good as the Nittos but still pretty good.

11,000 miles so far on my freinds SS, still nice tread, and they still hook like a champ.
