Default Can Ebay rim and tire deals be trusted?

Rims

Like those? Does the finish last? Are they as good as the ones from GM? Also what problems might arise from switching stock rims on a 98 Z28 to these? Are the tires that come with the rims on some deals good? Thanks for any info.

Come on after 29 views someone atleast has an opinion.

One more important question, with true Zo6 sized rims whats the cheapest I could pick up a full set of road worthy tires?

i think some of them are the same exact ones you'd find at some of our sponsors, only difference is they're sold at ebay.

Yes and NO, 1 thing you have to look at is their feedbacks, they need to be at least 98 percent positive, and check their recent transactions. Some seller start out good and then slip to ****. Also, ask detailed questions, DO NOT MAKE PAYMENTS WITH WESTERN UNION, or any payment methods that are not traceable. Good luck

I bought my TT IIs off of the bay and i had no probs, this guy had 99.9% positive feedbacks. He had a lot more items sold, over 2000 items i think. I ordered the wheels on a tursday and they got here that tuesday.

First thing I'd be checking is the offsets. If those are stock Z06 offsets I wouldn't buy them for an F-body.

What should the offsets be?

For 17x9.5/18x10.5 replicas most of the time (atleast on ebay) the offsets are gonna be 56MM front and back and while those aren't perfect they're better than the stock 65MM (I think) Z06 offsets.

Ritz:
Thanks. I am just now starting to consider these wheels for my SS. I`ve seen some people suggest 50mm offset as well. Which would have a deeper, more noticable visible lip on the outside of the rim?

Question, why spend that much when one of our sponsers sells those exact same wheels for over $100 cheaper?

Well they don't make Z06 wheels in 50MM offset those would be ZR1's. I have a set of ZR1's that I bought from O.E. wheels on my car. 17x9.5 (56MM offset which could stand to come out some more) and 17x11 with a 50MM offset and look good.

AFS makes ZR1's that look like the OE grandsports. Most ZR1 replica 17x11's have a bigger lip on the rear, but the OE Grandsports and some of the 17x11's that AFS sells don't have a bigger rear lip, but the part the lug nuts go is sunken in more.

And to answer your question about the lip size. I bought a set of 17x9.5/18x10.5 Z06 wheels from OE Wheels and a set of 17x9.5/17x11 ZR1's from OE Wheels. I've never had a problem with either one, but as far as the lip goes it was about the same size in the rear for both wheels. If I had my camera I'd show you because the Z06's are on my dad's C4 and the ZR1's are on my TA.

No sir those will work fine. Like I said I have 17x9.5 (56MM) and 17x11 (50MM) and I love mine even though the front sit further in than I'd like, but that's a sacrifice you gotta make when you buy a massed produced replica.

I can vouch for bones ent. on ebay I have purchased from them and picked up in Tucker GA. I live in Marietta GA and they were very cool to deal with as well as having great prices and a large selection of rims and tires. Not a sales pitch just telling what I know.

Thanks for the link Mike. Would using their set of 17 and 18s in the back require any mods to a stock F-body.

You can run 17x8.5, 17x9.5, and 18x9.5 wheels on all 4 corners with no modifications. The 18x10.5 will work on the back but may require a small spacer or some work on the inner federwell to work.
