Are you going to trailer it or drive it around town on them? I know some drag wheel manufacturers state that their wheels are intended for drag racing only and not intended for street use. However, there are some guys on this forum that do it and say they do it without problems.

Any water under a slick will put you right into one wild unpredictable ride. Rain, sprinklers, or whatever will send the car in a whole new direction. Not real safe if you ask me.

Having said that, I occasionally drive on my ET Streets now and then. Never more than a few miles at a time.

Try switching to the BFG or mickey thompson drag radial I hear they hook better than the nittos.

.........Arizona.......

they ticket you for not having tread, though I guess you could do the "cheater slick mod" (cut groves in the tire) and try that......you won't get pulled over for having slicks (can't very well see treads at 65mph ) but if they pull you over for something else (speeding, tail light, etc. ) then they will probubly see you have slicks and add it to your ticket....

PERSONALLY if I could find slicks in my size (18" X 10.5" rim) I would just run them and pay the ticket IF they ever gave me one

now,
a) slicks WILL burn up faster than street tires (duhhhhh )
b) don't expect to drive ANYWHERE if there is even a garden hose in the road.....you will hydroplane like crazy......

again, AZ.....I personally don't have any problems with either of these because I don't drive enough to wear the tires out and it only rains like 3 days all year out here....

I drive my car all over with BFG Drad Radials (I can drive in the rain but I have to drop to 35 or 40mph on the highway....I get flipped off a lot.... )......

skinnies won't cause a problem (as long as they have tread) if you don't go hard around turns.....

WHy not get nitto 555drs? I have them in 315/35/17 and they are very good.....

Milage is around 10k -15k.....

Traction is good in rain for this kinda tire but I keep the revs and fast shifting to a min.....

I got carried away once on the highway with light drizzle when and STI kept giving me his BOV **** and down shifted into 3rd at a very high rpm......

Lets just say it was good that it was 1am on a tuesday....

car went sideways accross all 3 lines......abs goign nuts.......I was scared as all hell..........live and learn.

ET streets are not good road tires. They will wear fast and you will crash in the rain.
My car got sideways going streight at 35 mph in a light rain.
