Default what are good tires for a "regular" car?

my mom is under the impression she needs these certain tires
because the dealer told her they are "required"
michellin energy mxv4 plus sxe p 235/60/15 99v m+s?

i told her they are "recommended"
but no tires are "required"
and bmw is probably in cahoots with michellin anyway.

so do you guys know what normal cars use?

i would think she wants them to last long and not make noise when turning sharply but slowly on black pavement and not lose traction when she hits water not be too expensive and i know this is not the forum for this but no one else seems to know wtf theyre talking about when it comes to cars.

maybe there is something that lasts longer or costs less or both?

i couldnt help because all i know about are drag radials

All I would say is simply call up a few places that sell tires and tell them you need 235mm with 15 inch diamiter rims. they will tell you what grade(or percent of the width in hight.) they have for that and what rating. Z,H or what ever basicly refering to the speed they are rated for. then they will tell you the price and what not. normaly they dont make commission on the tires sells and will be honest in their assement in what you mother needs vs what is recomended. I normaly stick to the 275/40Z17's that my car came with. I dont use the same manufacture but stick to the same quality.
