Default Help with finding out weight of wheels/tires.

Ok guys well I'm trying to sell my wheels to another member of the board, but I need to find out the weight of the wheels with tires and air. No problem right? Well the thing is I have nothing to put on the car right now, therefore; I can't take the wheels off and weigh them (long story as too why I can't leave them off).

Anyways if you have ever taking your 17x9.5/11 ZR1's off and weighed them with 275/40's or 315/35's please tell me how much they weighed, so I can give the member an estimate on shipping.

I tried searching and didn't come up with too much.

Ok maybe I'm confusing something here. My ZR1's are in the neighborhood of 25lbs and my tires (according to tire rack) weigh 30lbs. Now I figured that's the tire by itself, but they don't feel like it.

My 10-spokes with 275s were around 45ish. My new black ZR1s with 275s were around 55ish.

Wheels and tires typically weight between 50 and 60 lbs each.

I've got a set of wheels you can slap on your car if you need them for a bit,

AFS 9.5" ZR1's with Nitto 555RII's weigh 51.5lbs each.

Just grab a home scale, remove your rear wheel and weigh it and then put it back on.

And ship them using FedEx Ground. Just get some cardboard for each side of each wheel, cut it into a circle and tape them over the rims. Each tire/rim will have it's own label.
I had my 4 ZR1's with tires shipped from PA to VA for $63 via FedEx Ground.

This is the estimate I sent to the guy using 45lbs/tire,

Take off the wheel, hold the wheel and weigh it and yourself on a bathroom scale. Then just yourself, subtract the difference. There is your wieght of your wheel and tire combo.

Seems like a lot more work than bringing the scale outside and just weighing the wheel itself, don't need to do any math or anything.

lol.......true, but surely alittle subtraction would'nt be that hard. Keeps you in practice.
