Kuhmo MX's or BFG KD's ??

A buddy of mine speaks very highly of the dry traction of the MX's. He sets up the suspension on his cousin's late model car.
I wonder how long this thread will last before someone compares the Ecsta 712 against the BFG like the GS-D3 vs MX thread a while back.

I think it's pretty much a toss up. Get the MX's first, note what milage you get and how they perform, then try the KD's.
I know the KD's suck in the rain, my brother has the 315/35/17 on his car and he mentions that all the time.
I've got the MX's 295/35/18, on my car and even with the center section completely bald they didn't do that bad in the rain.
I plan on getting the MX's again since the price/performance ratio is pretty good and since it is my daily driver, needs to be safe in the rain.

I have the KD's and get great dry traction with them. Mine lasted just over 15,000 miles and I cut a 1.829 60' with 3/32" of tread left. The only downside to the tire is the price ($238) and wet traction isn't that great (snow's almost impossible) but you said weather and price aren't an issue. If you get the KD's you won't be disappointed.

I vote KD's. The traction & cornering is simply amazing for a street tire. I've got 12,000 miles on mine & there's still 5/32" thread depth left (just measured). I don't usually do any smokey burn outs or anything, but I'm certainly not easy on them either. Since the price didn't scare you off, I wouldn't see why you'd go with anything else. On previous F-body's, I've had F1's, RE730's, SZ50's & there's wasn't even a comparison IMO. Of'course those aren't top of the line tires to compare with, but they're the only ones I've got experience with. Never tried Kumho, but never heard anything bad either.

look at the goodyear gs-d3. this tire likes to be ran near the high pressure mark, but they hook great and handle the twisties well when the air pressure is high.

The Kuhmo's are an excellent dry traction tire. I don't drive my car in the rain. However, after looking at the wear on these year old tires, I doubt they last as long as a set of BFG's. But, the pricing is hard to beat.
