M/T ET Streets or Radials?
I just bought a pair of stock 16x8 inch Camaro wheels and I'm torn between buying a set of Mickey Thompson 26x10.5 ET Streets or 255/50/16 ET Street Radial. It would be convenient to drive the car to the track (about 75 miles) without haveing to jack the car up and change the tires when I get there. But how much of a difference in performance am I looking at? I'm looking to dump the clutch at about 5500 rpm with 423 RWHP (mods in sig). I've run a set of 17x11.5 inch ET Streets on chrome Z06 wheels and my best 60' was a 1.65. Should I expect to match that with the 16 inch M/T radials? And how much of a difference would I be looking at with the 16x10.5 inch ET streets?

ET Bias vs Radial
The bias ply tires grab a lot better than the radials but at high speeds it is scarry to drive if you have radial fronts. It causes the car to roadwalk all over the place. However, if you plan to run them all the time, you will want the radials. The bias ply ET streets and rain do not mix.

I recently made a tire change. I run the stock 16x8 rims for the track.
I use to run a 26x11.5x16 m/t tube type et street for the track and switched to 255/50/16 M/T drag radials.
The M/T street drag radials 255/50/16 feel way more stable on the high end and hooked way better then my 26x11.5x16 ET streets. I bolt them up at home and drive to the track and back no problem. I wouldnt feel as safe too do that with the tube type ET streets.

Yeah, the radials have been working just as well if not better than the E/T streets for alot of people. I've gone 1.43 with the 275/50/15s, should go high 1.30s no problem.
FWIW: I drive about 65 miles to the track and the radials aren't very good in the rain at all. Obviously better than a E/T Street, but you still have to drive real easy.
